May 25, 2015 Use of milled waste glass, as partial replacement for cement, to overcome the drawbacks of recycled aggregate concrete was investigated. Based on experimental investigations of the structure and properties of concrete materials, it was found that waste glass, when milled to micro-scale particle size, undergoes pozzolanic reactions with cement hydrates, forming secondary calcium
In the next stage of research work, concrete mixtures were made in which crushed aggregate from crushed fluorescent lamps was used as a substitute for gravel aggregate. Mixtures containing 10, 30, 50 and 100 aggregate were made. A mixture containing only sand and gravel aggregate was made as a comparative mixture.
The using of waste materials in the construction industry can reduce the dependence on the natural aggregates which are going at the end to deplete. The glass waste is generated in a huge amount which can make one of its disposals in concrete industry effective not only as a green solution but also as an advantage to enhance the performance of mechanical properties and durability of concrete.

Dec 14, 2019 Glass aggregates and ASR. Besides powder, waste glass can also be used as an aggregate in concrete in the form of fine or coarse aggregates. Since aggregates occupy approximately 70 of the concrete, using glass cullet as aggregate in concrete does more than incorporate more waste glass in concrete.
Recycled concrete aggregates produced from all but the poorest quality original concrete can be expected to pass the same tests required of conventional aggregates. Recycled concrete aggregates contain not only the original aggregates, but also hydrated cement paste. This paste reduces the specific gravity and increases the porosity compared to ...
Concrete was produced by replacing general-purpose cement with 10, 20 and 30 of recycled glass powder. The results were compared with the control 100 Portland cement and fly ash blend 30 fly ash concrete. The effects of glass powder on compressive, flexural and tensile strength of concrete were evaluated.

Jun 03, 2013 The present paper reports on the results of some experiments dealing with the recycling of mixed cathode ray tube CRT glass waste in the production of high-strength mortars. Waste CRT glass cullet was previously milled, and sieved, and the only fine fraction was added to the fresh mortar in order to replace part of the natural aggregate. The addition of superplasticizer was also investigated.
